Alan Carr Summer Specstacular

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS NAME DROPPING.

If you saw Alan Carr’s Summer Specstacular 2 on Channel 4 on Friday 17th August you may well have seen me in the above sketch, parodying Chariots of Fire. It’s still up on 4od if you can be bothered to sit through the adverts, then I’m in the sketch about an hour and 7 minutes in.

Alan Carr is a lovely guy to work with, really chilled and down to earth. They let me come back to the filming of the studio stuff as well, and I managed to get in the green room afterwards and meet Jonathan Ross (briefly), chat to Keith Lemon and Tulisa, Greg Rutherford and Louis Smith, stand very close to Paloma Faith and Melanie Sykes, and of course hang out a bit with Alan, all the time trying to pretend that I’m not some starstruck wanker. I also had the pleasure, during the filming, of sitting next to Adam Devlin from the Bluetones who was there with one of the other sketch actors, and funnily enough, is the celebrity who’s career I’ve actually followed the most.
